The Atlantic Institute has published its first "Annual Review" (July 2019-June 2020). The Review is a descriptive account of a year in which Atlantic Fellows, program staff and their communities met and addressed significant challenges. One major achievement was the way in which the Atlantic Fellows created projects funded by Solidarity Grants that have helped mitigate the pandemic's toll on their communities.
The Review covers the Institute’s financial year, so it contains highlights from 2019 when in-person events could go ahead, without COVID-19 travel restrictions. They include the first Global Convening in Oxford for Senior Fellows, and the thematic forum on displacement in Jordan where Fellows and program staff visited Za'atari refugee camp to learn more from the Syrian people living there. The Review also looks at how the Atlantic Fellows and staff pivoted to online events in response to the global pandemic.
