Nila Tanzil, Atlantic Fellow for Health Equity in Southeast Asia, Indonesia

Working with children in remote villages in Eastern Indonesia, Atlantic Fellow Nila Tanzil knew that the educational gap between city kids and those in remote villages was huge, but when COVID-19 closed school, the inequalities seemed insurmountable. This film follows Nila’s work preparing learning materials for rural children. Her work impressed local education offices, who realized the program could be a sustainable way of getting high quality education to children, regardless of their location.
