Bongiwe Lusizi, Atlantic Fellow for Racial Equity, South Africa

Bongiwe Lusizi, an Atlantic Fellow for Racial Equity based in South Africa, promotes and plays traditional African instruments, describing the process as ‘a symbol of purification’ against colonialism, white supremacy and anti-black racism. She shares her passion for African bow music with schoolchildren, showing them how the instruments were made and plays them in the same way as generations of Africans before her.
